Position Summary for the Quality Specialist:
Contribute to the assurance of product quality and reliability of Pinnacle’s heater and fan products. Participate in the analysis and investigation of customer complaints and field failures to identify root causes and quality improvement opportunities. Manage a non-conforming material process to ensure product containment and implementation of corrective actions. Perform dimensional and functional testing of products at the receiving dock and across the manufacturing process. Work with the Customer Service group and Engineering on the resolution of product warranty claims.
Position Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am-4pm
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop Quality systems and procedures to assure outgoing product quality and management of internal scrap and rework.
- Provide technical and quality support to engineering, production, and metal fabrication as needed, including product testing and inspection, and related data collection/reporting.
- Lead the collection of customer satisfaction and Cost of Quality data to drive success with customers.
- Work with Engineering and Operations team to evaluate product failures and document issues with returned goods. Work with appropriate functional areas to complete root-cause analysis and to develop and implement corrective action plans.
- Determine the salvageability of returned units and disposition of associated products in coordination with Customer Service Representative team.
- Assist with the identification, tracking, investigation and resolution of process deviations and internal product nonconformances/failures.
- Participate in the development and implementation of preventative measures and corrective actions.
- Perform and document first article inspection on new product.
- Follow all safety procedures while on the plant floor.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Two-year technical/associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 3-5 years of prior responsibility and experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to perform dimensional measurements on the product using common dimensional measuring techniques.
- Hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and refurbishing electrical and mechanical systems is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention-to-detail, and multitasking capability.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP Systems (NetSuite preferred).
- Problem-solving skills.
- Technical writing and documentation skills.
- Willingness to share knowledge and train others.
