Recruitment and Retention efforts are at the forefront of manufacturer conversations right now. Register for the April General Meeting to hear a panel of manufacturing hiring managers form a conversation around the following:
- How to Recruit in times of low unemployment
- What are today's candidates attracted to?
- How do you create a culture that retains current employees and attracts new employees?
- Why do people really quit?



Angie Brick is currently the Director of Community Relations at Rotochopper, Inc. in St. Martin. Rotochopper manufactures grinding equipment that transforms waste materials into profitable opportunities for customers such as colored landscape mulch and biomass fuels to name a few. Prior to this role at Rotochopper, she was the Director of Human Resources helping grow the Rotochopper workforce from a handful to well over 100. Brick also sits on the Paynesville Area Community Foundation Board.

Dana is the Director of HR at Rotochopper, Inc. in St. Martin. Prior to her current role at Rotochopper, she worked for Duininck Companies on their HR Central Management Team helping to support the HR departments of the eight family-owned companies. She holds her B.S in Human Resources and Marketing and has her SHRM-SCP and HRCI-PHR certifications. She lives in Richmond with her husband and three children.

Julia Contreras is the HR & Safety Manager at Louis Industries, a steel manufacturing job shop in Paynesville. She’s been serving the manufacturing industry for 10 years. In her current role, she is a member of the leadership team and is accountable for all aspects of HR, Safety, and IT. Julia is also overseeing 3 areas of production. She lives near New London with her husband and 2 young boys.

Scott is the Director of Human Resources at Coldspring. With history dating back to 1898, Coldspring serves the architectural, memorial, residential, and industrial markets with all types of natural stone, bronze, industrial, and diamond-tool products. Prior to his employment at Coldspring, Scott served in the US Navy and the US Army. Scott holds a BSOE of Human Resources and Aviation and is currently working toward his Masters Degree in Human Resources.

Mike Henke's passion for building strong teams led to the creation of Mike Henke Inc! Mike grew up in northern Minnesota, is a proud alumni of Bemidji State University, and has lived in Nebraska for many years where he ran a Recruiting Agency that focused on Manufacturing. Mike was appointed by the Governor to be a Nebraska Diplomat and assist in Workforce/Economic Development, and has keynoted many conferences with creative solutions to the challenges we face in Recruiting and Retention of Employees. Mike works with organizations throughout the country but his favorite travels involve getting back to Minnesota, with his golf clubs in the back seat, of course!
