Letter from the President - Summer 2022

Letter from the President - Summer 2022

You can almost feel it in the air, that sense that summer is short and sweet here in CMMA country! I hope this message finds you tan and filled with fun and memories of time spent enjoying all the season brings.

CMMA has been active and successful in furthering progress toward our goals of educating and connecting our members, workforce development and legislative advocacy. From our beginning, we’ve committed to making this forward motion happen by rolling up our sleeves and working hard to deliver actionable resources and outcomes that make a positive difference for our members, communities, and our industry.

CMMA deeply appreciates all of our sponsors, players and supporters for our recent annual golf tournament fundraiser event. True to event purposes, all proceeds, an impressive $14,300, will be strategically reinvested into our communities and steered toward workforce development and related initiatives. Congratulations winners and thanks to all!

A perennial CMMA event that we invented in response to need and opportunity is just around the corner. By Governor proclaim October is Manufacturing Month in Minnesota and CMMA will again organize a Tour of Manufacturing during that time. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your company and promote careers available within your organization. When offering an in-person or virtual/website tour, your business can be also highlighted in Central Minnesota’s virtual Manufacturing Month Magazine. You can also explore our event sponsor options to participate and gain exposure. The deadlines to have your business included in Manufacturing Month are fast approaching, connect with us soon!

Have you used, are you listed in, and are you leveraging the CMMA K12 Navigator tool? This FREE tool connects education and Central Minnesota manufacturers for career exploration and more! Teachers, counselors, career development coordinators, career coaches, parents need to know that the K12 Navigator aggregates work-based learning resources that can be integrated into classrooms and/or workforce development programs. The K12 Navigator can help manufacturers reach long-term goals, including developing future talent pipeline, reducing hiring, and training costs, limiting turnover, and other critical business functions.

Register to attend our Summer Social on August 25. Again this year, the event will be held on-site at Process Logic. Come and go as your schedule allows from 4-7pm. Automated machines and robotic equipment on display! Registration includes food and drinks, compliments of Process Logic! Come, connect, laugh, and join the fun!

While we are all subjected to challenges, whether it be labor, supply or logistics, CMMA is a point of clarity, purpose, and hopeful optimism. We appreciate you, our members and partners, as together we strengthen, stay the course, create opportunity, and prosper in central Minnesota!

Work hard, shine bright, and dream big!

In Service,
Les Engel
