CMMA Golf Social Recap 2020

The CMMA Golf Social once again raised significant funds in support of scholarships and youth manufacturing programs. Held at Wapicada Golf Club in St. Cloud on September 15, the eighth annual event netted $12,500 in profits. As the association’s only fundraiser each year, proceeds are earmarked to support the CMMA Foundation. The Foundation distributes scholarships and grants that support youth manufacturing programs in the region.

Since its inception in 2008, CMMA has provided over $121,500 in support of workforce development and career awareness!

The weather cooperated nicely when a threat of rain throughout the afternoon didn’t amount to anything. Nearly 100 golfers and volunteers enjoyed an afternoon of networking in the great outdoors. Adding to the fun were sponsor events on nearly every hole, including an “egg walk and marinated gummy bears” that netted a “CMMA Best Sponsor Award” for Gaslight Creative.

First place prize money was awarded to a team of golfers from Advantage One Insurance:  Brian Jarl, Andy Noble, Doug Odegaard, and Justin Berg.  They scored a 55; 17 under par!

Proximity prizes were awarded to:
Longest Drive Men............David Carlson, Food Dudes
Longest Putt......................Steve Leen, BerganKDV
Closest to the Pin..............Dave Swenson, Starrett Tru-Stone Technology
Congratulations to one and all!

CMMA gratefully acknowledges those who volunteered on the Golf Social Planning Committee: Clint Nelson, Chair (
Qualified Plan Advisors), Steve Leen (BerganKDV), Jason Iverson (Falcon National Bank), Tim Elness (W. Gohman Construction), Jared Powell (Woodcraft Industries), and Nathan Brown (American Door Works).
